Trauma & PTSD Therapy

When you have experienced something traumatic, it can feel like the rug has been pulled out from under you. Maybe you have noticed a shift in your emotions, or you find yourself avoiding anything that may remind you of the traumatic event. All of our practitioners are trained in a trauma-informed approach to therapy and are ready to help you overcome the troubling emotions, thoughts, and memories related to the trauma you’ve experienced.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based treatment for trauma. It works to address memories, images, emotions, and physical sensations associated with painful experiences you’re trying to overcome—teaching the brain to take control of upsetting thoughts and memories and move toward adaptive self-healing. This form of support means you don’t have to talk at length about what happened or what you’re trying to overcome.

 Maternal Mental Health

It can be extremely difficult to reach out for help when you’re pregnant, postpartum, or parenting young children. The truth is, you’re not alone in thinking you’re a “bad mom” if you’re feeling depressed or anxious, struggling, or having thoughts of harming yourself or your child. Our practitioners provide a safe and judgment-free space where you can talk openly about upsetting thoughts or feelings, no matter how big or incomprehensible they may seem.
